Working with the McCune Foundation and the Historic District Improvement Company (HDIC), Single Space Strategies put together a report is to provide a historical analysis of the Historic District Improvement Company’s (HDIC) activities from its inception in 1999 to the liquidation of the company in 2023.

Through qualitative interviews with former Foundation staff and partners; an analysis of historical documentation including contemporaneous newspaper articles, Foundation records, and City documents; a quantitative economic impact analysis; and a review of lessons learned through revitalization efforts in other cities, Single Space Strategies were able to provide an accounting of the history, challenges, successes, and ultimate impact of the HDIC project on revitalization in Downtown Albuquerque.
