City of Albuquerque Office of Sustainability
Priority Climate Action Plan
The City of Albuquerque Sustainability Office is leading the charge in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting environmental justice across the Albuquerque metropolitan area. As the recipient of a $1 million Climate Pollution Reduction Grant (CPRG) from the Environmental Protection Agency in 2023, the office worked in collaboration with Bernalillo County and the Mid-Region Council of Governments to develop a Priority Climate Action Plan (PCAP). These efforts are designed to advance high-impact, community-driven climate solutions, with a strong emphasis on benefiting low-income and disadvantaged communities.
Single Space Strategies was proud to support the Sustainability Office in this work, from securing the CPRG planning grant to facilitating collaboration between City departments and regional partners. Our team played a key role in identifying and prioritizing greenhouse gas reduction measures, developing a robust project repository, and developing strategic recommendations to ensure that community engagement remains at the core of Albuquerque’s climate strategy. These efforts helped lay the foundation for future federal funding and lasting environmental impact in the region.
